Physics for the Soul

Today in physics class we were going over some problems on the board, change in velocity and displacement and things like that. Sometime during this my friend sitting next to me sighs, “I hate physics,” as one does, just some offhand complaining.

However I looked at her in total shock. I actually really like physics because I LOVE FORMULAS. I love plugging the numbers in and getting an answer that works no matter which way you flip the equation. I like having balance and order in my life. There’s something so therapeutic about them.

I told my friend as much, in fewer words, and she just laughed and said she could tell I was enjoying myself. Then the teacher told us politely to shut up.
